Prime Minister Modi Praises Kolhapur’s Aditya Khairmode for Innovative Fishery Project

Palghar: During the foundation-laying ceremony of the Vadhvan Port in Palghar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Aditya Rajendra Khairmode from Kolhapur. Modi lauded Khairmode’s demonstration of fishery project and encouraged him with the words, “You should become a giver, not a taker of employment.” He then engaged in a conversation with Khairmode in Marathi, asking if he had come from Kolhapur. Modi also inquired about the water recycling fishery system presented by Khairmode.

The Prime Minister’s Fishery Development Scheme beneficiaries from Kolhapur, Virar, Latur, and Nanded were engaged with during the event. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar were present. Deputy Chief Minister Pawar specifically mentioned Aditya Khairmode in his speech and provided details about his business.

Aditya, from Jawaharnagar in Kolhapur, devoted himself to the fishery business after completing his B.Sc. He established a project in Pal, Gargoti area, with encouragement from his father, Rajendra Khairmode. Aditya described the project as providing additional income for farmers in drought-prone areas and shared information about fish farming in tanks.

Central Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Principal Secretary of the Fisheries Department Atul Patne, and others were also present at the event. The support of Yuvaraj Chaugule, Vijay Shikhare, Sharad Kudale, Satish Khade, and Sudarshan Pawse was acknowledged.
