KOLHAPUR: Technology is essential for sustainable development and security, and conferences hold unique importance for technological advancement. Innovators should enhance their observation, listening, writing, and study skills to become proficient and empower society,” stated Prof. Dr. Karbhari Kale, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (Lonere).
Dr. Kale was speaking at the inauguration of the three-day ‘International Conference on Blockchain Distributed Systems and Security’ organized jointly by Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe Institute of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE – Pune Section, Mumbai Section), and the Computer Society of Pune. This is the first conference of its kind in South Maharashtra, having received a total of 1089 research papers from seven countries.
Dr. Kale further elaborated, “The new era of digitization and security has begun due to Geospatial Sensors and Quantum Technology. Quantum Key Distribution technology is creating secure communication systems.” He discussed technical solutions to various problems while providing information on cutting-edge scientific changes.
Kaustubh Gawade, CEO of the Institute, stated in his opening remarks, “Blockchain technology has redefined the digital landscape. It is essential to remain vigilant to ensure that transparency and trust are not compromised by distributed systems. This conference provides a platform for research through collaboration, exchange of ideas, and cutting-edge research.”
Dr. Rajesh Ingle, Vice-Chancellor of Deccan Education Society (Pune University) and Chairman of the IEEE Computer Society Pune Chapter, spoke extensively on the relevance, necessity of international conferences, and the importance of communication and training in research. A book of selected research papers was also released during the event. Experts also delivered lectures on various technical subjects.
Dr. Amar Buchade, Chairman of the IEEE Pune Chapter, highlighted, “Blockchain technology has made it possible to secure data across all sectors, including health, law, education, and pharmaceuticals.” Dr. Vineet Kotak shed light on the correlation between scholarly pursuit in research and social development. Panel discussions facilitated brainstorming on the conference’s main topic.
Principal Abhaykumar Salunkhe, Working President of Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha and President of the Conference, said, “A combination of knowledge and action is essential, and the contemplation of researchers drives society forward. Researchers should be proactive in achieving the objective of world peace through technology.”
The event was attended by Dr. Vaibhav Mehta, Scientist from the Science and Technology Department of the Japanese Government; Dr. Vidyasagar Potdar, Researcher from the University of Perth, Australia; along with the Institute’s Secretary, Principal Sau. Shubhangi Gawade; Director, Principal Viren Bhirdi; principals of various institutes, researchers, dignitaries, and students. Principal Dr. Suhas Sapate of the Institute delivered the vote of thanks.
