New Delhi : Narendra Modi has broken his silence on the complex and sensitive issue of the alleged assassination plot targeting Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in the US. In a candid interview With british Daily Financial times. the Prime Minister acknowledged the “deep concerns” raised by the incident and pledged a “thorough and impartial investigation” to clear the air and uphold India’s commitment to the rule of law.

“This matter is of paramount importance to us,” Modi stated, his voice conveying concern. “As a responsible nation, India strongly condemns any act of violence or extrajudicial action, regardless of its origin or target.”

He emphasized India’s “long-standing and unwavering commitment” to upholding international agreements and cooperating with its partners in ensuring global security. Addressing the concerns raised by the US, Modi highlighted the existing channels of communication and collaboration between the two nations on law enforcement matters.

“We have full faith in the ongoing investigation by both American and Indian authorities,” he affirmed. “We believe in bringing any potential wrongdoing to light through proper due process, and we assure our American friends of our utmost cooperation in resolving this matter collaboratively.”

While acknowledging the seriousness of the allegations, Modi urged caution against jumping to conclusions or making hasty judgments.
