New delhi : A massive search operation has been launched for Indian Navy sailor Sahil Verma, who went missing from a naval ship six days ago. Mumbai based The Western Naval Command headquarter, identified the missing sailor as Sahil Verma, who belongs to Jammu and ordered a Naval board of inquiry into the incident.
Sailor Missing Since February 27th
Verma, a Seaman II, was reported missing at sea during deployment on February 27th. After the naval ship on which he was on board left Kochi Port In Kerala.The Navy immediately launched a large-scale search operation involving ships and aircraft, which continues as of today. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown at this time.
Family Expresses Concern
Verma’s father expressed his deep concern over his son’s disappearance of Sahil. stating that he received a distress call from the ship captain on February 29th informing him that his son was not seen since February 27.
He added that the search operation is ongoing as there’s no footage of Sahil jumping overboard has been captured in any camera installed at the ship.
